This book covers everything that you can (successfully) grow in NJ. No more checking zone maps or wondering if a plant will grow and thrive. A great time saver and a book that I wish was published 30 years ago. Well worth the cost in just the time it saves you consulting zone maps that are often wrong.

Summary: "This is my gardening "Bible"!"

I LOVE this book! I borrowed it from the library for weeks before buying it. I'm a great note-taker, but still couldn't take enough notes - and needed to own it as a continual reference book. Once, I lent it out to a friend, and didn't get it back, so I ended up buying another one. I HAVE to have this book as a gardening reference - especially for planning during the winter, and especially for buying season in the spring and summer, and especially for the "what to plant in fall for next year" season.

It has easy to read notes/icons for birds, butterflies, aroma, anti-deer, etc.
Easy to read notes/icons for sun and water conditions.
Great background info on the plants, and wonderful descriptions and tips for growing.

Divided into sections by annuals, perennials, shrugs, trees, groundcover, etc. Easy to use & read, but packed with everything you need to know about gardening in NJ.

I am a novice gardner and I found this book to be very helpful. My first trip to the nursery was overhelming. After I purchased this book my second trip went well. I knew exactly what I wanted to buy and where to plant it when I got home. It has pictures on every page which is great!
